I'm not an english native speaker, so I would like that you could help me with any mistakes I have. Thanks in advance:
ReplyDeleteMy name is Harold T. I’m a student of Industrial Engineering from Universidad Del Atlántico, located in the north of Colombia. With this letter I would like to express my strong interest for applying at Scholarships for FUBiS Winter Term I 2014 for students from Latin America in the Semi-Intensive German Language Beginner A1 course. As a future graduate, I plan to build an international career in the field of Engineering in Germany, so this program will really mean a lot for my academic and professional aspirations because appropriate knowledge of the German language is essential since I want to success in Germany.
Approximately 90% of the Universidad Del Atlántico’s students, including me, come from the lowest socioeconomic classes in Colombia. This institution is also host to many students displaced from their native regions by violence, natural disasters, etc. But despite these social and economic limitations, I am hard-working, highly ambitious student, with the strong intention of striving to collaborate in the development of my region, and for sure rest of students do those actions too. In my whole life I have been a person that is looking for success. Since I was a boy, my parents have told me that the combination of responsibility, study, principles and values are the best key to reach achievements. It is something that I’ve been attempting to follow.
Efforts and dedication gave me the opportunity to stay for 12 days in Germany in December of 2012. Ten students including me obtained an academic exchange scholarship: “Viajes de Estudios y Prácticas de Estudio en Alemania para Grupos de Estudiantes” sponsored by Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst – (DAAD) –. During that time I visited universities, development centers and laboratories in four cities including Berlin, all in English. My impressions were the best ones, I immediately thought that I had to come back and realize my academic, professional and personal life. I have great academic and professional aspirations. I want to attain a better quality of life, which is my principle motivation. Accordingly, I have decided to merge my efforts to apply for this academic scholarship offered by Ernst-Reuter-Gesellschaft der Freunde, Förderer und Ehemaligen der Freien Universität Berlin e.V. in order to achieve competitive advantages regarding to the domain of the German Language and to facilitate my professional and personal development. I am committed to making this a deeply enriching experience.
I view this scholarship as an excellent opportunity to reach my short- and long-term goals, among which I am especially enthusiastic about my desire to do a Postgraduate course in Germany. The first step to achieve this, is to learn its native language, and what could be better that learn it in the same Germany and in the Freie Universität Berlin that ranks near the top in all of the major German and international university rankings. Thanks to this opportunity, I will have the chance to have a qualified education of the basics of German Language and to become familiar with the possible courses offered by this prestigious University, allowing me to evaluate those that best fit my life projections.
Thank you very much in advanced for this opportunity and for considering my application. I am convinced that I will find a place in all the activities of this scholarship and I will do my best to adjust to the course I am applying for.

This is a MOTIVATION LETTER. Sorry for the title of the question.
Loew recently made a comment where he said Germany could win either the 2012 Euro Cup or the 2014 World Cup, to me he sounded like he was cutting his team short. I have complete confidence that his team can possibly do both. What are your thoughts? Did you think he made the team seem limited?
ReplyDeleteDeutschland ist beser als England
ReplyDeletebesser= better
I already posted this in the higher education but I feel Military is more appropriate
ReplyDeleteI am a high school student going into my junior year and I am very determined to go to West Point. I have a few questions about the admissions process as well as I would like for you to evaluate my potential to be accepted based on my current "resume".
I know that I need to take the candidate questionnaire to open my file at West Point, however I am confused as to whether or not I can take that now or if I need to wait until the spring to complete that.
I am also confused about getting in contact with my local liaison officer, I haven't been able to find out who my local liaison officer is as it does not appear that West Point has an outreach program like the Air Force Academy does.
Now for my "resume"
I play ice hockey and have varsity letters from my freshman and sophomore year
I also play club hockey and will hopefully be captain of my club team this year.
I do not want to play for my school this year because I will be busy with a lot of other things and I have problems with the coach, however I know the varsity letters look good to the admissions team.
This year I intend to do cross country and track and field as well.
I have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 and a 4.0 weighted GPA
Last year I took AP U.S. History and got a 4 on the test.
My course load this year will consist entirely of AP/Honors courses with the exception of a one semester PE class. I am determined to maintain exceptional grades this year as going to West Point is my main goal. I have made gold honor roll(4.0+ weighted) every semester in high school so far and plan to keep it that way. I am currently 48 in a class of 396 and hopefully I will advance as I get better grades this year. I am a member of a search and rescue team, the only one with teenagers in the nation, and hope to be promoted to a leadership position this year. Our team does actual search and rescue missions as well as event assist at local community events in our county. We have our own version of the emt-b class that I will be completing this fall and when I turn 18 during my senior year I plan to take the emt class plus the iv certification at a local community college. I think this part of my application will set me apart from all others because saving lives is a huge community service and the team takes a lot of time and dedication as we are on call 24/7.
I also have a part time job at an Outback Steakhouse as a host.
I am already signed up to take both the SAT and ACT early in the fall this year so that I can take them multiple times. I am determined to get at least a 32 on the ACT and hopefully higher.
At the start of the school year I will be a leader at Outdoor Lab where we teach sixth graders about the Colorado outdoors. I hope to be a part of student government by my senior year.
Let me know how you think my "resume" looks and please answer my two questions. Thank you!
I plan on going to college fall 2014 and I want to major in Athletic Training and Music Education which involves two things I absolutely LOVE (music and sports/athletes). I also want to play college softball. Would this be too much of a workload? By the way I enjoy being busy but I'm more worried about the workload.
ReplyDeleteIm in my last year at school and I want to become a good photographer. I do all ranges of photography but its hard to find the right angle and the right image. Im threating that i wont become a photographer when its always been my dream to become one
ReplyDeleteSo I recently asked a question about this topic but have more questions!
ReplyDeleteMy background: I am receiving a BA in Literature and Writing Studies in 2 weeks, high honors (if that matters).
I am seriously considering Accountancy. I was looking at programs that prep you for the CPA exam. This should allow/help me to pass the exam but I believe I would need a lot of additional educational credits for licensure. I could get most/all the credits I would need by receiving another degree in Accounting (either 2nd bachelor's or master's...which I now know I could pursue either one) but I believe I could also receive these credits at my local community college instead, which I understand to offer enough courses to meet the requirements. I guess I am wondering if I can avoid getting another degree by just completing the courses at a community college and then taking the prep program? Money is an issue which is why I was leaning toward community college. Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance!!
I live in California and the requirements for CPA in 2014 are:
BACCALAUREATE DEGREE & 150 SEMESTER UNITS
24 SEMESTER UNITS – ACCOUNTING SUBJECTS
24 SEMESTER UNITS – BUSINESS-RELATED SUBJECTS
20 SEMESTER UNITS – ACCOUNTING STUDY
19 SEMESTER UNITS -- ETHICS STUDY
**10 Semester Units in ethics
I am a 2014 OF/3B with a 6'2 170 lb frame. I have good strength with a lot of room to fill out. I also have above average speed and run a 6.9 in the 60 yard dash. At the plate I bat right handed with a nice, loose swing and I can square the ball up hard. I'm not a home run hitter, but I hit hard line drives all over the field. I can steal bases and I am an aggressive base runner. Defensively I feel very confident. I can track balls down in the outfield with my speed and work through the ball to get momentum in my throwing motion. I have good arm strength and can hit 80-83 mph from the outfield. My throwing mechanics are very simple and smooth. In the infield I play 3rd base. Although I play outfield most of the time, I still feel confident at 3rd. I work through the ball very smoothly and have a fast release with good carry on the ball.
ReplyDeleteRight now you're probably thinking I have a good chance, but there are some negative factors. First of all, I didn't play a whole lot my junior year because there were a lot of seniors who were all good. Second of all, I've never really played on any competitive teams besides high school. And lastly I haven't gotten any exposure because of the first two factors.
Overall what I'm asking is do I have a chance to play Division I college baseball? Honestly I'd play anywhere, no matter what division the college is, but my dream is to play D1. I know D1 baseball players usually get recruited around their junior year of high school, but I do know some people that got recruited as a senior. Please let me know if you have any knowledge in the baseball field!
One more thing.. Please don't say "Anything is possible if you have the right attitude and work hard" or anything like that. The truth is, it's not always possible. If that was the case, then everyone would play D1 baseball.
